Lulu, aka Bashira, Oct 2008Lulu, Oct 2008Lulu, Oct 2008

LuLu came into our rescue program on July 31, 2007, along with 43 other horses that were severely neglected and starved from the Forest Park & Spencer, Oklahoma area. We were called by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, Forest Park Police Department and Spencer Police Department to assist in the seizure of the 44 horses. LuLu is a 3 year old, beautiful, Bay, Arabian Mare. LuLu is a sweetheart and she is seeking her loving, forever home to call her own. LuLu loves attention and enjoys being with other horses. LuLu has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving LuLu a loving, forever home, please submit an application today. No appointments will be scheduled without a completed and signed application and contract on file.

Additional information from LuLu's Foster Home: LuLu is a gorgeous horse with a beautiful, thick, coarse mane. She is built great with a stout & athletic frame. She looks very athletic & strong to me. When she gallops across the field, she honestly looks like she is floating. She has a beautiful gait. She is very smart and responsive & in my opinion will make someone an awesome horse with a little training. I feel like she has a lot of potential. She is completely broke to lead with a halter, stands well when having her feet trimmed & enjoys being brushed. She is very affectionate with me. I really enjoy her.

LuLu Update 10/1/08 -- LuLu aka Bashirah was returned to Blaze's due to her former adopter being relocated to Chicago. LuLu is once again seeking her loving, forever home. She is broke to ride and will make someone an excellent horse. Please read a bit below from the former owner.

"I've clocked her miles and have ridden an actual 300-350 miles on the road and trail since I have had her, up to 14 miles sometimes in one day. No problems with rushing barking dogs, cattle, sheep, or deer. Will cross rickety bridges, go on concrete, grass, gravel, dirt, or down highways on the shoulder. She can handle light traffic passing by. She handles feed bags thrown at her feet and does not spook ever. She is fearless! She is totally finished as a trail mare. She is learning lead changes and needs transition work on leads, she is great at pressure and release. She is light mouthed, very underneath herself with good forward motion but not too much. Has whoa when you need it and go when you want it. She leads, loads, stands for farrier and vet, bathes, stands tied, and stands quiet to be mounted. I have taken her to playdays to spectate and for trailer rides to other places. She is very affectionate, walks to me in the pasture and loves attention. Her loyalty is next to nothing. She has been started on poles and is trotting/learning the barrel pattern. She is not marish and is quite the snuggler. She needs work on her neck reining. She will work off leg cues. She has never fussed at me on the trail, no buck, rear or anything. I can throw her out in the pasture for a week and hop back on her and she is solid as ever. She is an amazing horse! You can ride her bare back with a halter and lead rope or fully tacked!"

LuLu has been adopted to a wonderful family in Choctaw, Oklahoma. LuLu is joining Ranger and few of our previous rescues at her new forever loving home. She will be spoiled rotten and extremely well loved at her forever, loving home.
