Fire came into our rescue program December 16, 2004. Fire is a black mare estimated to be around 10 years of age. She came to us a little underweight with Ice, her foal, on her side, and showing stifle problems. When Fire walks she drags her back left leg, unable to unlock it from her sleep position. We are going to schedule Fire surgery to correct the problem, so that she can move more freely. Fire is due to have the surgery on January 3, 2005. If you would like to make a donation towards her care, it would be greatly appreciated. Fire has not received much hands on. She is scared of people and doesn't appear to have been touched much in her 10 years. She is going to need lots of work in order to get her to trust you. Fire has been adopted to a wonderful family in Paoli, Oklahoma. Fire will be getting a lot of attention, love and patience which she needs in order to trust again. She will have 90 acres to be a horse and she will never have to fear going through a sale barn and being mistreated. She has a wonderful new start in life.
