Solomon came into our rescue program on August 27, 2016. Solomon came into our rescue program from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with 2 other horses. Solomon is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Gelding. Solomon is estimated to be 3 years of age. Solomon is a sweet boy. Solomon is halter broke and broke to lead. He needs a lot of hands on attention and a humane level of training. He is a super sweet boy and has a lot of potential in the right hands. Solomon has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Solomon.

Solomon was picked for our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. He was chosen by Adult Trainer Stephanie Bingham. Stephanie originally picked Bindy but due to some possible lameness issues, we have elected to bring Bindy back and let Stephanie pick a different horse to start the competition with. Stephanie will be working with Solomon for the next 132 days, turning Solomon into a dependable riding companion. Stephanie will be going against 10 Adult Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. We also have 5 Youth Trainers competing in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for May 20, 2017 at the Heart of Oklahoma, Shawnee Expo Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma. For additional information regarding our Trainer's Challenge, please visit our trainer's challenge website and follow your favorite Trainer/Rescue Horse on their journey to competition. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Solomon will be available for adoption throughout the competition on May 20, 2017 through an all day silent auction. Solomon is a sweet boy and loves attention. Solomon has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Solomon has also been freeze branded for his protection. If you are interested in adopting Solomon, please submit an adoption application and get your pre-approved status, in order to adopt Solomon or one of our other Rescued Horses competing on May 20, 2017.

Update May 2017 Solomon has made leaps and bounds in the 120 days of training he has had. He now will quietly stand to be groomed, bathed, tacked, mounted and dismounted. He will pick up all 4 feet and stand very well for the farrier both for trimming and shoes. He lunges very well both in a round pen or on a lunge line and responds to voice commands and body language. Under saddle Solomon can walk, trot, lope and gallop. He picks up his correct leads, is soft on the bit and has a nice head carriage. He steers off your leg and seat cues. Solomon will side pass both directions, back, turn on his haunches and sliding stop. He also has a simple lead change both directions and close to having his flying changes. Solomon has been ridden on many trails, through water, over logs, over tarps, etc., and handles it all in stride. Solomon will excel in a continued training program with consistency. I think he can go far in the performance world in many different directions. Cutting, Reining, Cow horse, ranch pleasure, trail, etc., Options are endless with this little guy!

Update May 23, 2017 Solomon and Stephanie are this year's 5th Place winners of the Adult division of our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer's Challenge. These two did a remarkable job and quite the team! Stephanie dedicated her freestyle performance to her 1 year old daughter, Izzie, who has been hospitalized since January fighting for her life. Please send prayers for this beautiful little girl. So very proud of Solomon and Stephanie for an amazing job well done. You can watch Solomon's performance with Trainer Stephanie Bingham here: Team Solomon.. Congratulations Solomon and Stephanie! Your performance is one to remember!

Solomon has been adopted to a wonderful family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Solomon is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this sweet boy found the forever, loving family he deserves where he will be showered with love and attention.
