Katy came into our rescue program on August 9, 2011. Katy came from the Stephens County Sheriff's Office. Katy along with 14 other horses were severly starved and neglected in Marlow, Oklahoma. Sadly, one of the horses seized by Stephens County died within 48 hours of the seizure at the Vet Clinic, due to the extreme neglect she had suffered. The remaining 14 horses are currently in our care and being rehabilitated. Katy is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Mare. She is estimated to be 4 years of age. She is super sweet and loves attention. Katy has an abcess tooth that we are currently treating and she still needs to put on some weight. She is a body score of a 3. We will update as she progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Katy's rehabilitation.

Update 12/22/2011 Katy has gained a lot of weight and looking great. She is now ready for her forever, loving home. Katy is super sweet and loves attention. Katy stands for the farrier, halter broke and broke to lead. Katy has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and hoof maintenance. Update August 2012 Katy is still seeking her forever, loving home to call her own. Katy is a beautiful girl and will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and training. She is super sweet and loves attention. Katy stands at 14 hands tall. She is a nice stout girl and ready for a job. Katy stands for the farrier, halter broke and broke to lead. Katy was picked for our 2nd Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. She was chosen by Trainer Emily Roberts. Emily will be working with Katy for the next 100 days, turning Katy into a dependable riding companion. Emily will be going against 13 other Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for May 4th, 2013 at the Lazy E Arena, Guthrie, Oklahoma. For additional information regarding our Trainers Challenge, please visit our trainer's challenge website and follow your favorite Trainer/Rescue Horse on their journey to competition. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Katy will be available for adoption immediately following the competition on May 4th, 2013. You can have an opportunity to see Katy in action at our Blaze's Spring Fling Benefit Trail Ride on April 20th, 2013 at Prague Lake. All Trainers will be available with their horses to give anyone interested in adopting, a sneak peak. Katy is a sweet girl and loves attention. Katy is now 5 years of age. Katy has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Katy has been adopted to a wonderful family in Jones, Oklahoma. Katy was adopted along with Groucho, where they will both be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in their forever, loving home. We are thrilled that these two sweethearts will receive the time and attention they deserve from their forever, loving family.



Please call or email to schedule an appointment to visit the horses currently available in our rescue program. We are generally available by appointment Monday - Thursday after 5:30 and anytime Friday - Sunday. We do maintain full time jobs, so we are not always available on weekdays. Please be patient with us and we will return your call/email as soon as possible.
