Chex came into our rescue program on March 3, 2022. Chex came into our rescue program as an animal cruelty case from the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office along with 8 other horses. Sadly, we were not able to save one of them to do a severe injury the horse had sustained and never received Veterinary Care. Chex is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Stud. Chex is estimated to be 15 years of age upon arrival into our program. Chex is super sweet and loves attention. Chex is in poor condition with a body score of 2. Chex previously had a laceration to his eyelid on his upper eyelid on the left eye that was not repaired and now has a permanent defect in the lid margin. Chex's bloodwork shows that he is anemic, which is likely due to poor nutrition and parasites. Chex is halter broke and broke to lead. Chex has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Update May 2023 Chex is now seeking a forever, loving home to call his own. Chex is a super sweet boy and loves attention. Chex may have been previously started under saddle but could use a tune up. He is very easy going and tacked up nicely. Chex would be great as a little lead line pony or if someone wants to try and get him going again. He has a great personality and is truly a love bug. Chex has been gelded. He stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Chex has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental, and hoof maintenance. Chex has been adopted to a wonderful family in Spencer, Oklahoma. Chex is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home. We are thrilled that he has found his forever, family that he deserves, where he will be showered with love and attention.
