Apple came into our rescue program on February 13, 2012. Apple came from Logan County Sheriff's Office along with 15 other horses as an animal cruelty case. 16 Horses were seized from a property holding nearly 105 horses. The 16 seized were in critical condition all a body score of a 1. The remaining horses are now being cared for by the owner in a court order and are closely being monitored. Apple is a Beautiful, Blue Roan, Appaloosa, Mare. She is a body score of a 1, infested with internal parasites, needs dental work and feet trimmed. It doesn't appear that she has received the basic medical care in quite some time. Apple is estimated to be 7 years of age. Apple is a bit aloof but has a lot of potential. She is quick to react, but learning that is no longer needed, as she is being spoiled and loved on daily. We will update as she progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Apple's rehabilitation.

Update June 2012 Apple is now seeking her forever, loving home. Apple has gained a lot of weight and continues to gain her weight back daily. She has been in foster care for several months and the foster family worked with Apple and the other horses with their socialization, etc., She is now ready for her forever, loving family to call her own. Apple is super sweet, but will require some work. She is leary of being caught, but with a little patience and time, she responds nicely. Apple is halter broke and broke to lead. We don't believe her to be broke to ride, as it appears she has primarily been a brood mare. Apple is very smart and with the right amount of time and attention, she would make someone an excellent horse. She is small, estimated to be about 14 hands tall. Apple has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl the forever, loving home that she deserves, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come see Apple.

Update July 2015 Apple has returned to our rescue program at no fault of her own. She is now seeking a forever, loving family of her own. Apple is now 10 years of age. Apple is super sweet. Apple is green broke under saddle. She has an eager to please personality. Apple stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Apple has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting Apple, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Apple.

Apple will be going through a training camp with Saddle Up Horsemanship. Kelci Goad will have 6 student trainers that will be working with select horses in our adoption program that are green broke. Apple will receive about 2 weeks of training, which will benefit her greatly and prepare her for her forever, loving family. Everyone is invited to attend the last day of training camp and see the progress each horse and student have made on August 8th. Apple and the other horses will be available for adoption on this day. If you are looking for a great horse with some additional training and a solid foundation through Kelci Goad's training program, please come check out Apple and the other 5 adoption candidates at Saddle Up Horsemanship on August 8th, 2015 at 8:00 am. Saddle Up Horsemanship is located in Guthrie, Oklahoma at 11223 South Pine, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.

Update During Apple's time at the Saddle Up Horsemanship Clinic we found that Apple has some under lining pain issues associated with being tacked up. She can not handle the weight on her back and we have decided it is in Apple's best interest to no longer pursue training. Apple is best suited as a companion animal only.
