Lakoda came into our rescue program on May 20, 2006. Lakoda (is an Indian tribe that believed horses were a gift sent to them from the Heavens) is an extremely sweet Mare. She is estimated to be around 9 years of age. She is trained to ride and just needs that loving forever home to call her own. I would not recommend this girl for any type of performance activities. She would make an excellent trail horse or just for pasture pleasure. She is an extremely sweet girl.
Surprise, It's a Boy! Welcome Dancer! Lakoda gave birth on July 20, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. We have been waiting for this precious baby for about a month now. We thought that she may have been pregnant, as she just kept getting bigger and bigger. We had her preg. checked a month ago and found out that she was indeed pregnant. Next, was waiting for his arrival. Like everything else in this world, when you least expect it, here they come. Momma and Baby Dancer are doing wonderful. He is just beautiful and getting around great. We named him Dancer, because he kept dancing circles around his mother when he was learning to nurse. He is just precious. Both are healthy and happy and enduring the awful heat. We will update soon on the adoption process for the two.
Lakoda and Dancer are available for adoption together. Lakoda is a sweet girl, rides great, but she will kick. Lakoda has suffered some type of trauma to her hind legs and it has left a lasting impression in Lakoda's mind. She is extremely sensitive and will kick if someone is messing with her hind quarters. If someone is interested in adopting these two sweethearts, then please remember that all of our adoptions are to go to forever, loving homes. I want everyone that is interested in Lakoda to know that she does and will kick. Our goal is to place our rescues for life. Lakoda and baby are up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and has a current negative coggins.
Lakoda & Dancer's Adoption Fee $1200.
