Dandy is our newest family member. Dandy is a 4-year-old gelding and he comes complete with a wonderful story. One day we received a phone call from Dandy's previous family requesting information about us and what we do and then she told her story about Dandy. I didn't know for sure if this particular situation was something that we could help with but we were headed to Norman that next day to check on Shiloh and I told her we would come by and meet Dandy and her family. Upon Arrival, we saw a beautiful horse and a wonderful family that owned him. See Dandy had previously been diagnosed with COPD or Heaves. Dandy's family had been doing everything possible for him, but his condition didn't really improve. As much as they loved him they knew deep down inside Dandy needed a different living environment so that he would have a chance to get better. Meeting Dandy's family turned out to be a wonderful experience and by the end of our visit, we decided that we would take Dandy and do everything that we can to help him. Of course, our agreement would be that Dandy would live with us and become part of our family. We not only received a great horse, but a wonderful friendship with a family that truly loved and wanted nothing but the best for their horse. Today, Dandy is doing great and he very rarely coughs and he has not suffered from runny discharge from his nose in quite sometime. He has a personality that keeps you going for days and he truly loves the attention. I believe that he is incredibly spoiled and when the weather gets a little chilly he waits for his blanket. He is well loved, but then again, everything that comes here is well loved.
