Nudey came into our rescue program on July 14, 2020. Nudey came into our rescue program from the City of Edmond Animal Welfare along with 23 other horses as a cruelty case. This case has been a long drawn out ordeal and we are thankful that we can now prepare these horses for adoption. Many of these horses had a lot of medical issues that we have been treating and taking care of. Reportedly, most of the horses in this case are all Western Pleasure bred. We DO NOT have registration papers on any of these horses. Nudey is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Mare. Nudey is estimated to be 19 years of age. Nudey is a super sweet girl and loves attention. Nudey is very thin, with a body condition score 2. Nudey is accompanied by an approximately 12 week old colt. Nudey has rain rot. Nudey's bloodwork showed she was anemic, which can be due to external or internal parasites, poor nutrition, blood loss, or other chronic health issues. Her total protein was elevated which can be due to dehydration or infection. Glucose was low likely due to poor nutrition and high calorie demand (lactation). Nudey is being a great mom and settling in well with a good diet to properly accommodate momma and baby. We will update as she improves.
